NCT ID NCT07462390
First seen Mar 11, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 11 times
Summary
This study aimed to see if placing a small ice pack (a frozen glove finger) into the rectum for 5 minutes before a prostate biopsy could lower pain, anxiety, and stress hormone levels. It planned to include 84 first-time biopsy patients, comparing those who got the ice treatment to those who received standard care. However, the study was withdrawn before any patients were enrolled, so no results are available.
