New radiation strategy aims to stop lung cancer return after surgery

NCT ID NCT07293247

First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether adding a precise type of radiation therapy (I²-PORT) after surgery can lower the chance of cancer coming back in people with non-small cell lung cancer who still have cancer in their lymph nodes. About 164 adults will be randomly assigned to receive either standard care (chemotherapy or immunotherapy) alone or standard care plus the targeted radiation. The goal is to see if the combination is more effective at preventing cancer from returning.
