New scan spots hidden heart disease before symptoms start

NCT ID NCT07591038

First seen May 19, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a new radioactive dye can find early signs of a heart condition called amyloidosis in people who carry a TTR gene mutation. About 80 adults aged 30-80 with the gene change but no heart failure symptoms will get a PET/CT scan after receiving the dye. The goal is to see if the dye can detect amyloid buildup in the heart early, which could lead to earlier treatment.
