New MRI technique could spot early lung damage in cystic fibrosis

NCT ID NCT04259970

First seen Jan 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 22 times

Summary

This study tests whether a special type of MRI, using a harmless inhaled gas, can detect early lung function changes in people with cystic fibrosis who are starting a new triple-combination therapy. About 64 participants will be scanned before and after starting treatment, and again at 6 and 12 months. The goal is to see if this imaging method can better measure how well the therapy works and help design future trials.
