First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 27 times
Summary
This study tested whether hypnosis or virtual reality (VR) can better reduce pain during repeated medical procedures like wound dressing changes. Fifty-two patients who experienced significant pain despite usual painkillers took part. Each patient tried both methods at different times, allowing a direct comparison. The goal was to see which technique works best in real-life, varied medical situations.
