First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Apr 29, 2026 · Updated 31 times

Summary

This study tests whether nurse-delivered hypnosis before and during breast cancer surgery can lower the amount of opioid painkillers patients need after surgery. About 225 adults having breast surgery will be randomly assigned to receive hypnosis plus standard anesthesia, standard anesthesia alone, or both. The goal is to see if hypnosis can safely reduce opioid use for two weeks after surgery.
