First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 35 times

Summary

This study tests if nurse-delivered hypnosis before and during breast cancer surgery can reduce the amount of strong painkillers (opioids) needed after surgery. About 225 adults having breast surgery will be randomly assigned to receive hypnosis plus standard anesthesia, standard anesthesia alone, or both. The goal is to see if hypnosis helps control pain with fewer opioids.
