Oxygen therapy could help UC patients avoid surgery during flares

Summary
This study tests whether breathing pure oxygen in a pressurized chamber (hyperbaric oxygen therapy) can help people hospitalized with moderate to severe ulcerative colitis feel better faster. Researchers want to see if this treatment can reduce the need for stronger medications or surgery during the hospital stay. About 126 adults aged 18-85 will take part, and half will receive the real oxygen treatment while the other half gets a sham (fake) treatment to compare results.
