First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 26 times
Summary
This study tested whether teaching pregnant women with urinary tract infections (UTIs) using the 'teach-back' method (asking them to explain what they learned) improves their genital hygiene behaviors and symptoms. 36 pregnant women were split into two groups: one received the special hygiene training, the other got none. Researchers measured hygiene habits at the start, and again on days 7, 21, and 30. The goal was to see if this teaching approach leads to better hygiene and fewer UTI symptoms.
