Summary
This study looked at whether hydroxychloroquine, a medicine already used for lupus, could protect people from getting COVID-19 or make it less severe. Researchers compared 552 lupus patients who were either taking or not taking hydroxychloroquine during the pandemic. The goal was to see if the drug had a preventive effect against the virus.
