Cooled newborns get personalized steroid dosing to treat low blood pressure

Summary

This study looks at how to best give the steroid hydrocortisone to newborns with brain injury who are being cooled and have low blood pressure. The goal is to find the right dose for each baby to raise blood pressure safely. About 50 full-term babies will take part, and researchers will measure their blood pressure and cortisol levels to personalize treatment.
