First seen Mar 22, 2026 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 11 times

Summary

This study tested whether applying a hyaluronic acid gel to gums after surgery improves healing. 26 adults with gum disease who needed surgery for deep pockets were randomly given either the gel or a saltwater solution. Researchers checked healing, pocket depth, bleeding, and patient comfort over 3 months. The goal was to see if the gel leads to better and faster recovery.
