NCT ID NCT06399861
First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated Jun 23, 2026 · Updated 28 times
Summary
This study is testing two different humidity levels (70% and 90%) in incubators for extremely premature infants born before 25 weeks. The goal is to see which level helps prevent dehydration and leads to better survival and fewer health problems. About 350 babies will take part in the trial.

What this could mean
Our plain-language read of the trial. This is informational only — not medical advice or a prediction.
Active substance
Incubator humidity (70% vs 90% relative humidity)
What this could lead to
If it works, this could point toward a standard humidity setting that helps extremely premature infants stay hydrated and survive with fewer complications.
What could go wrong
This is a relatively small, early-stage trial comparing two humidity levels, so it may not show a clear benefit or could reveal unexpected risks. Results may not apply to all premature infants.
As listed by the trial registrant
The condition terms exactly as the trial's registrant entered them.
