NCT ID NCT05614089

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 21, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study tested whether a newer insulin (glargine) is safer and better at controlling blood sugar than standard human insulin in 400 youth aged 7-25 with type 1 diabetes living in low-resource settings. Participants used continuous glucose monitors to track their levels over 6-12 months. The goal was to see if glargine reduces dangerous low blood sugar episodes and improves time in the target glucose range.
