Ancient herb meets modern exercise in battle against muscle aging

NCT ID NCT07321535

First seen Jan 08, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether a traditional Chinese medicine formula, Huangjing Yangji, combined with resistance band exercises, can improve physical function and muscle strength in older adults with sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss). About 106 participants will take either the herbal granules or a placebo twice daily for 3 months, plus do supervised exercise 3 times a week. The goal is to see if the combination works better than exercise alone for walking, balance, and overall mobility.
