Herbal hope: new combo treatment targets Age-Related muscle decline
NCT ID NCT07321535
First seen Jun 27, 2026 · Last updated Jun 27, 2026
Summary
This study tests whether adding a traditional Chinese medicine formula (Huangjing Yangji) to resistance exercise improves physical function more than exercise alone in older adults with sarcopenia (age-related muscle loss). About 106 participants will take either the herbal granules or a placebo twice daily for 3 months, plus do elastic band exercises three times a week. Researchers will measure walking speed, balance, muscle strength, and quality of life at the start, after treatment, and one month later.
