New strategies help more teens get HPV vaccine

NCT ID NCT03726151

First seen May 23, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026

Summary

This study tested different ways to help teenagers complete the HPV vaccine series at community health centers serving low-income families. Researchers compared parent reminders (by mail and text), clinic system changes, and a combination of both against usual care. Over 17,000 teens aged 11-17 took part across seven clinics in California. The goal was to find the best approach to increase vaccine completion and prevent HPV-related cancers.
