Immunotherapy may replace chemo for some throat cancers

Summary
This study compares standard treatment (radiation plus chemo drug cisplatin) against two experimental approaches using the immunotherapy drug durvalumab (with or without another drug, tremelimumab) for patients with HPV-positive throat cancer that has spread to lymph nodes but not elsewhere. About 129 participants will receive radiation plus either cisplatin or durvalumab, followed by additional immunotherapy in the experimental groups. The goal is to see if immunotherapy can control the cancer as well as chemo, with potentially fewer side effects.
