Study tests simpler method to catch cervical cancer recurrence
NCT ID NCT01051895
Summary
This study compares two methods for monitoring women after treatment for cervical pre-cancer: the standard colposcopy exam versus a simpler HPV test. Over 2,200 women across Canada were randomly assigned to one of these follow-up approaches for two years. The goal is to determine which method better detects returning or persistent pre-cancerous changes.
