Scientists train Patients' own immune cells to hunt down HPV cancers

NCT ID NCT02379520

Summary

This early-phase study is testing a new treatment for cancers linked to the human papillomavirus (HPV) that have come back or not responded to standard care. Researchers take a patient's own immune cells, grow and modify them in a lab to better recognize and attack HPV-infected cancer cells, then infuse them back into the patient. The main goals are to find a safe dose, see how long the cells last, and check if they can help shrink tumors.
