Can bad sleep make pain pills more addictive?

NCT ID NCT04299490

Summary

This study aimed to understand how common sleep problems affect the brain's response to pain medication and its potential for abuse. Researchers studied 148 healthy adults, disrupting some participants' sleep in a controlled setting. They then used brain scans and pain tests to see if sleep loss changed how the brain processed pain and the medication's effects.
