Quit smoking together: new study tests if family support beats going it alone
NCT ID NCT07267936
Summary
This study is testing whether helping a patient and the people they live with quit smoking at the same time works better than just helping the patient alone. It involves 231 adult smokers who are patients at a UK hospital and live with other smokers. Both the patient and their household members will get nicotine patches/gum and counseling support, and their quit rates will be tracked for a year and compared to past patients who tried to quit without their household.
