Hospital stays may weaken seniors' bodies and minds – study aims to find out why
NCT ID NCT06932224
First seen May 11, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 4 times
Summary
This study looks at how being in the hospital affects the physical and thinking skills of adults aged 65 and older who have a broken bone or other orthopedic injury. Researchers will test participants' strength, memory, and mobility at the start of their stay, after 7 days, and again 4-6 weeks after going home. The goal is to better understand hospital-related decline, not to test a treatment.
