Doctors get report cards on antibiotic prescriptions in hospital study

NCT ID NCT07368660

Summary

This study tested whether giving hospital doctors feedback on how their antibiotic prescribing compares to their peers could reduce unnecessary antibiotic use. Roughly 170 doctors across four hospitals participated, receiving bi-monthly reports on their prescribing habits. The goal was to see if this simple feedback system could safely lower antibiotic prescriptions and improve patient outcomes like reducing infections and hospital stays.
