Sweet relief: honey dressings may speed healing after cyst surgery
NCT ID NCT02485860
First seen Jan 07, 2026 · Last updated Jun 12, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looked at whether using honey on surgical wounds after pilonidal cyst removal helps them heal faster. About 890 adults with clean, non-bleeding wounds took part. Honey may help by fighting germs and reducing fluid, but it's not a cure—just a way to possibly speed up recovery.
