Home rehab challenge: can tech and coaching beat traditional COPD recovery?
NCT ID NCT04521608
Summary
This study tested whether a home-based pulmonary rehabilitation program using new technology and health coaching works better than traditional center-based rehab for people with COPD after a hospital stay. Researchers enrolled 296 adults who had been hospitalized for COPD and randomly assigned them to either the home program or a choice of center-based or telehealth rehab. The goal was to see which approach helped people stick with their rehab exercises and improve their quality of life over three months.
