Zapping away IBS pain: At-Home device trial seeks relief
NCT ID NCT05519683
Summary
This study is testing whether a home-based electrical stimulation therapy (TEA) can reduce abdominal pain in people with irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS-C). Researchers will compare the TEA device against a common medication (escitalopram/Lexapro) and a sham (fake) device over 8 weeks. The goal is to see which approach best eases pain and improves quality of life for the 160 participants.
