First seen May 25, 2026 · Last updated May 25, 2026
Summary
This study aims to find better ways to decide when patients can safely go home alone after anesthesia, without needing a friend or family member to drive them. Researchers will test custom phone apps and thinking tests in 1,000 adults who are staying in the hospital for 23 hours after surgery. The goal is to see if these tools can reliably show when a person's brain function has returned to normal.
