First seen Dec 24, 2025 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 18 times
Summary
This study tested whether a 6-month personalized home walking program could reduce bleeding inside carotid artery plaques in 56 patients with significant but symptom-free blockages. Participants wore activity trackers and aimed for 6,000 steps daily. The goal was to see if exercise could make plaques less likely to cause a future stroke.
