Summary

This study tested a home-based, telephone-delivered therapy program for low-income seniors aged 65 and older with poorly controlled type 2 diabetes. The program, called Home DM-BAT, involved 8 sessions with a diabetes nurse educator to help participants manage their condition. The goal was to see if this approach could improve blood sugar levels (HbA1c) over 12 months compared to supportive conversation alone.
