Breathing easy at home: new telerehab study boosts heart Patients' lives

NCT ID NCT06856915

First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated May 17, 2026 · Updated 2 times

Summary

This study tested whether a home-based breathing muscle training program, delivered via telerehabilitation, can improve quality of life, heart and lung function, and mental well-being in people with ischemic heart disease. 104 adults with stable heart disease participated. The program included exercises for both inhaling and exhaling muscles, compared to a placebo or inhaling-only training. The goal was to see if adding breathing training to standard cardiac rehab provides extra benefits.
