First seen Apr 10, 2026 · Last updated Apr 23, 2026 · Updated 1 time

Summary

This study tested whether a home-based breathing exercise program, guided by video calls, can improve quality of life, heart and lung function, and emotional well-being in people with ischemic heart disease. 104 adults with stable heart disease participated. The program included both inhale and exhale muscle training, and was compared to a placebo or inhale-only training. The goal was to see if adding breathing exercises to standard cardiac rehab provides extra benefits.
