Mind over breath: simple mental tasks may extend Breath-Hold during breast cancer radiation
NCT ID NCT06100068
First seen Feb 25, 2026 · Last updated May 01, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study tested whether mental exercises or a slowed clock can help breast cancer patients hold their breath longer during radiotherapy. 36 healthy volunteers performed deep inspiration breath-holds with and without a simple tablet-based mental task. The goal was to see if these non-medical tricks could make breath-holding easier and more comfortable, potentially improving treatment accuracy.
