Could a two-drug pill keep HIV in check for kids?

NCT ID NCT04337450

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 33 times

Summary

This study tests whether a two-medicine HIV treatment (dolutegravir and lamivudine) works as well as the usual three-medicine treatment for children aged 2 to 15 who already have their HIV under control. About 386 children will take part, and researchers will check if the simpler treatment keeps the virus suppressed for up to 96 weeks. The goal is to see if a lower pill burden can be safe and effective for kids living with HIV.
