Could two pills be as good as three for kids with HIV?

NCT ID NCT04337450

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 32 times

Summary

This study tests whether a two-medicine HIV treatment (dolutegravir and lamivudine) is as safe and effective as the standard three-medicine treatment for children aged 2 to 15 who already have the virus under control. About 386 children will take part, and researchers will monitor if the virus stays suppressed over 96 weeks. The goal is to see if a simpler regimen can maintain health without increasing side effects.
