Scientists peer inside the body to see what happens when HIV meds are paused

NCT ID NCT05419024

First seen Nov 10, 2025 · Last updated May 25, 2026 · Updated 24 times

Summary

This study aims to understand what happens to HIV when people stop their daily medication for a short time. Researchers will use scans and tissue samples to measure virus levels in the blood and lymph nodes. About 50 adults with HIV who are on stable treatment will take part. The goal is to learn more about where HIV hides in the body, not to test a new treatment or cure.
