Summary
This study tested a new support program for people with or at risk for HIV and substance use disorder who were leaving jail. The program aimed to improve access to essential services like HIV testing, addiction medication, and overdose prevention training. Researchers worked with 50 incarcerated individuals and 20 staff in one New York county to see if the program was practical and helped connect people to care after their release.
