Weekly shot aims to replace daily HIV pill cocktail
NCT ID NCT02355184
Summary
This study tested whether a weekly injection called PRO 140 could maintain control of HIV over the long term, replacing the standard daily combination of pills. It involved 20 adults whose HIV was already well-controlled on standard therapy. Participants switched to receiving only the weekly PRO 140 injection and were closely monitored; if their virus levels rose, they would restart their original medication regimen.
