Could a monthly shot replace daily HIV meds? study halted early

NCT ID NCT02355184

First seen Nov 01, 2025 · Last updated May 18, 2026 · Updated 27 times

Summary

This study tested whether a monthly injection of an antibody called PRO 140 could keep HIV under control without daily pills. It included 20 adults with HIV who had stable virus levels on standard therapy. The goal was to see how long the virus stayed suppressed after switching to the antibody alone. The study was terminated early, so results are limited.
