Summary
This early-stage study tested a vaginal insert containing two drugs (tenofovir alafenamide and elvitegravir) to prevent HIV and herpes (HSV) infection. Sixty-eight healthy women used the insert daily for 3 days, then every other day for 14 days. The main goal was to check safety and measure drug levels in the body and vaginal fluids.
