Scientists track HIV drugs in breast milk

NCT ID NCT07086079

Summary

This study aimed to understand how much of two HIV medications, doravirine and islatravir, pass into breast milk. Researchers measured drug levels in the breast milk and blood of 12 healthy, breastfeeding women over 24 hours. The goal was to calculate the potential dose a nursing infant might receive to inform safety guidelines.
