First seen Dec 12, 2025 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 31 times
Summary
This study looked at how much HIV medication passes from mother to baby through breastmilk. Sixteen HIV-positive mothers who chose to breastfeed provided blood and breastmilk samples at 1, 3, and 6 months after giving birth. Researchers measured drug levels to calculate how much of the medication the baby might receive, aiming to improve safety for breastfeeding families.
