First seen Feb 13, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 10 times
Summary
This study looked at 114 HIV-positive adults hospitalized with an additional infection (opportunistic disease). Researchers compared starting antiretroviral therapy (ART) within 48 hours of admission versus waiting until the infection was under control. The goal was to see if immediate treatment reduced death rates. The study is complete, and results help guide when to start HIV therapy in sick patients.
