First seen Jan 31, 2026 · Last updated Apr 30, 2026 · Updated 12 times

Summary

This study looks at whether giving a single dose of the steroid dexamethasone during hip replacement surgery can help patients feel better and recover faster. About 224 adults aged 60 and older having a first-time hip replacement will receive either a low or moderate dose of the drug. Researchers will track their quality of life, pain, and recovery for three months after surgery.
