Heated vs. sprayed chemo: which works better for belly cancer?

NCT ID NCT07282834

First seen Jan 04, 2026 · Last updated May 23, 2026 · Updated 20 times

Summary

This study compares two methods of delivering chemotherapy directly into the abdomen for people with cancer that has spread there (peritoneal carcinomatosis). One method uses heated chemotherapy during surgery (HIPEC), the other uses a pressurized spray during a minimally invasive procedure (PIPAC). The goal is to see which approach is safer, better tolerated, and more effective. About 200 adults aged 18-80 who have already tried standard chemotherapy will take part.
