Heated chemo during surgery may boost stomach cancer survival

NCT ID NCT05871099

First seen Mar 07, 2026 · Last updated May 22, 2026 · Updated 14 times

Summary

This study tests whether giving heated chemotherapy directly into the abdomen during stomach cancer surgery can help patients live longer and lower the chance of cancer coming back. About 616 adults with advanced stomach cancer will be split into two groups: one gets standard surgery plus chemotherapy, and the other gets the same plus heated chemo. The goal is to see if the heated chemo improves 5-year survival and reduces cancer spread.
