Which wash heals hip surgery wounds better? new study seeks answer.

Summary
This study compares two antiseptic washes (povidone-iodine vs. chlorhexidine) used during hip replacement surgery to see which leads to better wound healing. About 420 adults with hip osteoarthritis or avascular necrosis will be randomly assigned to one wash. Researchers will evaluate scars and complications at 2 and 6 weeks after surgery.
