New injection tested to ease agony of broken hips, cut opioid need
NCT ID NCT05673486
Summary
This study tested whether a specific nerve-blocking injection, given in the emergency room, helps manage pain better for adults with a broken hip. Researchers compared pain levels and total morphine use between patients who received the injection plus standard painkillers and those who received standard painkillers alone. The goal was to see if this approach provides more effective pain relief while reducing the need for opioid medications.
