New hip implant study aims to reduce dislocations for cancer patients

NCT ID NCT05461313

First seen May 07, 2026 · Last updated May 19, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study looks at two different hip replacement devices—a constrained liner and a dual mobility cup—to see which one is better at preventing the hip from popping out of place after surgery. The trial involves 146 people with cancer that has spread to the hip bone who need a hip replacement. The main goal is to compare how often dislocation happens within six months after surgery.
