First seen Jan 09, 2026 · Last updated May 24, 2026 · Updated 29 times

Summary

This study looked at whether a 6-week high-intensity interval training (HIIT) program can improve physical fitness, heart health, and sleep quality in male university students who sit for more than 8 hours a day. 56 healthy but inactive students took part in a randomized trial. The goal was to see if short, intense exercise sessions could help counteract the negative effects of prolonged sitting.
